Who are we?
Hawthorne Park Slot Car Club is the centre of the slot racing community for Liverpool & Merseyside.
We are based at St Monica’s Parish Centre, Bootle, Liverpool, L20 9JD .
We race different classes (types) of slot cars almost every Friday. Our Track, made of wood and copper taped, is 100 foot of racing and has a DS-300 timing system with start lights and lap counting/timing features.
If this sounds like something that you'd want to join in with, why not pay us a visit? [details on the Club Information page]
We're a friendly group and will try and answer any questions you have. If you fancy racing but have no cars, don't worry members are always happy to loan a car (or two) out when possible.
A slot car (sometimes, slotcar) is a powered miniature auto or other vehicle that is guided by a groove or slot in the track on which it runs. A pin or blade extends from the bottom of the car into the slot. Though some slot cars are used to model highway traffic on scenic layouts, the great majority are used in the competitive hobby of slot car racing or slot racing.
